Easy No-Bake Cherry and Cream Cheese Patriotic Dessert

May 31, 2021

Hi Friends! Traditionally we always have a special meal and dessert on Memorial day. However after the hubby and I enjoyed that wonderful Coconut cake which I shared right here, I sort of backed away from sweets for a week or so. (You might remember I was eating that wonderful cake for Breakfast too! However today I decided to make this no-bake Cherry and Cream Cheese Patriotic dessert. It's a recipe that has been in our family for some time and it can be tweaked quite a few ways, depending on the topping of your choice. This delicious dessert can easily be put together in about 30 minutes or so. The graham cracker crust can be baked or frozen to set it. It's light, refreshing, easy and pretty too! A great dessert recipe to have in your recipe box when there is a crunch for time and a dessert is needed ASAP!

Avoid the mess and use a gallon size baggie to crush the crackers in!

Friends, you know the mess that crackers, cookies and such can make when you are preparing them for a crust. Did you know that by placing the graham crackers in a gallon size baggie really streamlines this process and keeps things tidy!

Simply place the crackers a few at a time in the baggie, seal it shut and roll them with a rolling pin! You can see in the photo below how well this works out๐Ÿ˜Š!

I want to mention that this pie will not come out in perfect sliced pieces unless it chills overnight. It will come out in scoops when chilled for a few hours. I have made this dessert before and I used coolwhip instead of whip cream. I do think the coolwhip sets up faster and will slice easier. Either way it's mighty delicious!

  2. Good morning dear heart! I didn't know your father had served; what a brave soul any one of our men and women have to put themselves in harm's way. My uncle was a pilot and flew over England but my father was a widower (from his first wife) and had a child o he was unable to serve. This dessert looks amazing and surely spares the house of being overheated on what could be a very hot day for you? It's that JUNE GLOOM kind of weather here for now but soon, the heat will turn up! BLessings to you dear one!
