Lemon and Lime Spring Tablescape

March 20, 2018
Hello and thank you so very much for joining me today as I share my Lemon and Lime Spring Tablescape. The focus for this tablescape is the centerpiece. As I thought about what Spring meant to me I knew immediately that I wanted my table to feel fresh; garden fresh, spring fresh and renewed. What better way to get that freshness than to take the table outside and incorporate living elements in the centerpiece.

Chloe from Celebrate and Decorate has organized this fun and inspiring tablescape Blog Hop. Truly there is something for everyone and for every budget! I am so happy to be here with this group of creative artists. You will find all of the links at the end of this post for tons of Spring inspiration.

The first step to creating my living centerpiece was a trip to the market. Of course I would love to be able to grow my own lemon and lime trees but North Texas is prone to some hard some freezes.

I purchased lemons, limes, parsley, rosemary, and Mexican Tarragon to add to some tulip bulbs that I am forcing to bloom. I also added in a couple of brown egg shells that are sprouting cat grass for an upcoming Easter project.

To finish this natural centerpiece I added just a little faux because I don't have any Forsythia. But isn't it so realistic and truly I find mixing real and faux greenery or blooms works out very well. Then for good measure I add a few sweet ceramic chicks and a bunny too.

Keeping everything basic and simple right here with a white tablecloth and yellow napkins and of course lemon and lime print bowls.

Then the other fun part of this tablescape begins and that is incorporating goodies from my girls!

These placemats and hand painted goblets are from my Samantha and the ceramic Oil dispenser is from Amanda.

Amanda brought this back from her trip to Cinque Terre, Italy!

This happy yellow teapot is a sweet treasure from Tessa.

For our family the quessential Spring dessert is always Strawberry shortcake!

Of course every Lemon and Lime Tablescape needs a Lemon wreath to welcome family and friends!

Happy Spring Friends! Thank you for embracing nature with me today as I shared this thrifty and natural Lemon and Lime Spring tablescape.

  2. Good morning, Jemma! I must say I'm a little jealous with the fact that you can already set an alfresco table! The forsythia and live herbs, grasses make a perfect centerpiece. That's one I'd love to try - thanks for the details. Adding the things your daughters gifted are sweet touches to the table. Yellow & green are most definitely my happy colors. I couldn't wait to bring them out in my own home decor to banish away winter. Anything lemon is a favorite of mine, but you could definitely twist my arm with the shortcake. Happy Spring!

I'm happy you're part of the tour this week, and I love the photo ribbons you've collaged for each day!

I love your alfresco table with perfect accessories from your kids that add interest and personality. You truly have designed a garden fresh table that is happy and makes me feel that renewal spring evokes.

And the fact that your table is so bright and cheerful just adds to the fun. I like the way you tucked all sorts of goodies in the centerpiece. 14. Jemma, I love the lemon lime theme. So pretty...Also, I like the area where you live. We lived in Duncanville, Texas for several years and the weather can be surprising. Now I live in Florida but miss the colder weather for lilacs, tulips, peonys...etc. Having said that...I don't miss it enough to move back :) Your table is inspirational and it is a joy to blog hop with you.

  26. Jemma,
Lemons and limes are perfect for plein air dining! Everything looks so fresh and inviting. I saw a lime tree at a local nursery this week. It was about 8' tall in a very large ceramic pot and was loaded with limes and blooms. For someone with a large working conservatory, it would be perfect.

  27. Lucky you to set an outdoor tablescape. Isn't our weather just amazing? I love how you mixed the freshness of limes and lemons with the flowers, especially the yellow daffodils and herbs. What would do without them and Mexican heather? I've never heard of cat grass (That's a really cool idea.) Just so fresh and pretty. P.S. We've had a Meyer lemon tree for years that produced unbelievable fruit ~ one year we had 56 lemons! Last winter it got frostbite and it looks like it's still not coming back. I really miss those lemons.

  31. Hello, sunshine! Thank you once again for keeping those of us who live in cold climates afloat of it all! We still have snow on the ground, there is NO sign of spring yet, and for our friends out in Boston, it's a real mess. But you have been encouraging us to keep looking up and around us with inspiration. GORGEOUS lemon and lime deliciousness!

  32. Ok, if you can set a gorgeous table like this outside already, I need to move back to Texas right now! I am so beyond green with envy right now! It's supposed to be a balmy high of 45 today. I am so glad your table is outside though, it is lifting my spirits and making me more hopefully for nicer weather. Such a gorgeous backdrop you have for all that glorious color you used. I love that you incorporated items your girls gave ya too. The whole table is just gorgeous!

This is one of the prettiest, cheeriest , springiest tablescapes I think I have ever seen! I love all the bright yellow and the coordinating dishes.... adding the lemons and limes is just brilliant! ....course I also zeroed in on the "eat the dessert first!" Best advice I've seen in a long time too!! ;)

Everything looks just lovely my friend! Sending love, Easter blessings and good wishes,

  44. Dearest Jemma, HELLO! I've missed you so, but I knew you were visiting your daughter. I miss your posts on IG! I haven't really checked my blog since visits have dropped drastically, but I was so happy to read your thoughtful comment! That photo of the roses in the vase was taken last summer at the antique shoppe of a friend for her grand opening of her THIRD space. It was a beautiful day and the lighting hit just right. I'd love it if you come to see my recent photos on IG; the last one I posted this morning is an attempt to recreate a Dutch Master classic. Come by if you get a chance, and happy RESURRECTION DAY!

Your variation of plates and sweet details are gorgeous and your strawberry shortcake has me wishing I was right at your table.
