Inspirational Thursday-Trees

January 31, 2013

Trees have always touched my heart-I am intrigued by their majestic branches that reach towards the sky.   This tree is in our backyard-on slow, sunny, blue sky days in January I like to sit outside and admire this tree.

Trees remind me that life is constant and that God has everything in control.

Life is a cycle and we can always look to the future and the newness which that Season will bring. God's promises are seen everywhere.

As the sun drops low into the horizon and night begins to settle in, the majestic tree casts her final shadows on the closing of the day.  This seems to me, to be the perfect time to reflect.

The stillness of the forest is calming to my mind and soul.  All is well.

On the top of this grassy hill a tree stands strong, straight and faithful much like a lone warrior at the end of a battle.

And even though, winter has shrouded each tree in a blanket of snow-this Season of sleep will give way to the promise of a new beginning.  I am thankful that God has created this magnificent world and that His constant hand of love and care is seen in the beauty of a Tree.

Trees- By Joyce Kilmer 1886-1918

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the sweet earth's flowing breast;

A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;

Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

Does something in nature resonate for you?
