Baby's Breath In My Window

January 11, 2015
My window, where I watch a bit of life pass by.

I add some Baby's Breath, and the glow of a candle or two.

The day is done and the darkness falls like a downy feather from a lonesome bird in flight.

I see a few warm gleaming lights of kindly neighbors through the rain and mist.

Candles flicker, and then burn bright.

Wishing you all a peaceful and cozy night.

  1. So pretty Jemma! It was definitely a candle day here too. I had 3 burning in my kitchen and every few minutes I was holding my hands over them enjoying some extra heat. It is so cold here. Was 3 below when I woke up this morning! Have a lovely week!

    1. Linda,
Oh goodness, 3 below! This is way too cold, but isn't it amazing what a little warm glow can
do to make a person feel warmer!
      Thanks for your thoughts.

  2. That has to be so warming on a cold day - so elegant to look at. It is so very cold here - but I guess it is winter - we usually don't get that cold so it us a surprise. Baby breaths are so pretty.

I love your new blog header - do you do that yourself?

    1. I think those of us who live in the milder region of the U.S. (like you and I) often times forget
how cold Winter can really be, not as much sunshine this January as normal either. So the warm glow of candles certainly helps out!

I wish I could take credit for the header-but no, a very creative and great young Lady from designer blogs did this for me, her name is Kate.

  5. aahh, your baby's breath looks sweet right at your window. I usually see it with flowers, but I really like it plain in a simple vase like this. I'm glad you have kind neighbors. That makes all the difference in the world. Have a lovely evening, Jemma.

    1. Thank you, Sheri-
I was thinking of snow on this particular day and it was so cloudy and chilly that the baby's breath seemed like a perfect fit!
