Autumn Tablescape & Maple Leaf Giveaway

I am truly counting down the days until Fall, which is September 22nd.  While I count, and wonder if it will ever feel cooler, I have put together a little maple leaf tablescape that includes a maple leaf giveaway. I was inspired by the brilliant color and the attention to detail in this pretty Fall Maple art piece which is being offered by the  Darren Gygi Home Collection , for this Fall giveaway. I chose to use this maple leaf as the theme for my outdoor tablescape, where I built my tablescape around the color, texture and woodsy feel.   Tip 1. Using faux boxwood garland I nestled these bright red apples alongside the garland, then added a few multi

Homemade Jalapeno Jelly

My origins of birth never incorporated anything spicier than a well seasoned hamburger patty into our meals, so when the move took us to Texas many years ago, I sort of had to get with it or get left behind! You all know that I love to cook, and tweak a recipe or two so it was pretty natural for me to take those numerous jalapenos from my garden and work some magic with them. So here they are, all pretty and preserved in mason jelly jars. I mentioned that I was making jalapeno jelly at our daughter's baby shower a few weeks ago and I did get a questioning look or two a and " Well, I have NEVER heard of such a thing. "  But there is such a thing and it is mighty good! Jalapeno jelly is a mixture of sweet and spicy with just a little Texas kick at the end. Truly this is one tasty jelly, especially when you pour it over a brick of cream cheese, then
