Coastal Style Living 30A & Premium Paint By Number Kit

July 18, 2020
I have some news to share with you all, we have moved to Florida and we will be living Low Country Style in a lakeside Community in Southport.
Talk about a drastic change of scenery and lifestyle from the rugged Mountains of Colorado to lakes, bayous and the gulf.
We even closed on our home today, which makes my head spin even more and all of a sudden I feel tired...and well, slightly crazy.

Our home is only three years old and the previous owners just recently had this beautiful saltwater pool put in.
Our backyard is roomy and I am already dreaming of where I will be gardening...

So I am basically popping in to say Hi and share some soothing pictures of Coastal Living along the Emerald Coast in Florida and give a big shout out to Winnie's Picks for sending me a wonderful premium paint by number kit just before we left Colorado to embark on our Southern adventure.
Simply use athomewithjemma to receive $5.00 off your first paint by number kit.

I know that during this unprecedented time in History staying calm, cool and collected is something that we are all striving to achieve on a daily basis.
So whether it is walks along the coast, jogging through a park, hiking up a mountain or painting to soothe the soul, I say we need to partake of what makes us feel the most serene.

Since we are in Florida I am spending soothing days (social distancing) in the sun, sea and with our Florida family.

This was our first year to visit 30A along the gulf and it was a treat to see the most darling homes in cheerful colors and witness the cotton candy sunsets too.

  1. Jemma congrats on the move. I know you wanted to do this for some time and I am glad it all worked out for you. Now just stay safe while that virus is on the rampage down there. The paint by number pic is going to be perfect for your new home. That should give you something creative to do when you are tired of unpacking boxes. Congrats again. So happy for you. xoxo

    1. Good Morning Kris,
Yes, as you know health is everything and if you don't have that you don't have much to go on.
My Hubby just struggled so terribly at that high altitude. Some of this is all a bit confusing. But I am working on not questioning, but believing. I know that God has this all figured out, so I don't have to!
Thank you so much for the friendship and well wishes.

  2. Dearest Jemma, I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU! You now have a pool! Saltwater! I have never heard of that! Well my dear, you have been blessed with a new cottage and a space where you will be able to run wild in your gardening plans. Enjoy this time of finding yet another creative outlet to enjoy this life our God has given you. I wish you all the best as you settle in and continue to keep safe and well. HUGS!

    1. Good Morning Dear Anita!
Yes, we have warm balmy breezes (maybe a little too warm on some days...lol) but I think that this low country living will be very beneficial to my husbands health. We are near a dear daughter and grandchildren, close to Dave's sister and relatively close to his Dad and other family members.
I continue to focus on God's plan and not question the long and twisted road we took to arrive here!
      Much love to you,
      Jemma

  3. Jemma, congratulations on the closing and the move! I'll bet you're tired! Whew! That area looks very nice. We've been in the 30A South Walton area, and my daughter did her graduate work at FSU, but we didn't travel to your specific area (stayed further south, went to St George Island and then followed the coastline). I hope you settle in and can enjoy it all right away!

    1. Good Morning Rita,
Thank you for the well wishes, so very much appreciated.
We are considering this a journey blessed by God, because moving to Florida has not been or our radar.
Isn't 30A a glorious slice of perfect sand and sunsets.
Congratulations to your daughter for finishing up her graduate work at FSU!

    1. Hello Liz,
My hubby did not thrive at 7,300 feet. Breathing became an issue. So here we are. Our journey has been rather nontraditional to say the least. We do have a darling daughter and plenty of grands to keep us young at heart here. Thank you so much.

  6. That’s wonderful news Jemma! I’m sure you’re thrilled to be ‘home’, and I can see your wheels turning from here of what to do in your garden ;).

Have you been to Seaside? It’s a charming town that I think may be East of you but I could be wrong. It’s where they shot that movie with Jim Carey, The Truman Show. At least that’s what we were told when we were there three or four years ago. It sustained damage from hurricanes since then but if you get a chance and haven’t seen it please go! I wrote about it a little in one of my Florida posts.

Wishing you many happy years in your new home!

    1. Hi Doreen and thank you!
We have been to Rosemary Beach and I believe Seaside is just a bit further. All of those gorgeous beaches are about 30 miles from our home.

      I am thinking a blogger/girls weekend there for 2021.

    1. Jeanie,
Thanks so much. We have been as prudent as we can be in our multi-state move. This has been one wild adventure and I may just write a book.
Can't wait to get to gardening in the Fall.

  8. Congratulations on your beautiful new home! A saltwater pool sounds amazing. I'd be floating in it all day. I think you need to get a bright pink flamingo float. Load on the sunscreen, put on a darling wide brimmed hate, and float your cares away. :-)

    1. Melanie,
Thank you very much! I haven't taken a dip in the pool as of yet, but as soon as I get the bedrooms put together I certainly will.
We had a very long and very rough Winter.
Appreciating good health more than ever these days.

  14. Hello Jemma, I haven't seen your recent posts. They are not coming up on my side bar,
and not sure why. You moved to Florida, oh my! That is a big change from Colorado. Your back yard looks beautiful with the pool. It sure is hot here in California, and this Labor Day weekend is going to be a hot one I hear. You have a charming home, and
I'm sure once you're settled in, you will make it a welcoming home for your family.

Wishing you beautiful September days, dear Jemma. And now I will catch up on your
