Jemma's Tales

Jemma's Tales & Gardening

March 16, 2016
How have you been since last week?
Any knew news to share or thoughts of any particular kind?

inspiration, motivation, well, being, athomewithjemma

You do not have to have a blog to chime in, so please do.

Today is Wandering Wednesday and I have a few things on my mind of where my wanderings took me and I surely do hope you can help me.

I know that many of you are gardeners with a vast knowledge of plants, plant care and such.

This is one of the many joys of blogging, we are able to ask one another for assistance in

all sorts of matters.

I certainly would like information on the type of Hydrangeas these are.

My second question is how do you get back in the routine of something after you have let

it go for quite awhile?

What motivates you to "begin," again?

I sure would enjoy hearing from you and helping me with some of my wandering questions

and in turn I'd like to hear from you too.

Thank you for joining me!

  1. Could it be the Annabelle hydrangea? I don't know. I've never had hydrangeas. As for the motivation, I'm one of those people that seems to be hard-wired with an abundance of energy. Sometimes it's a good thing. Sometimes it gets me injured! But with lots of energy, you don't really need motivation because you can't stay still long and are always doing, doing, doing!

    1. What a beautiful name for a hydrangea, I home going to do further investigation.
      Thank you for the tip.
You have been doing and doing and I must say your kitchen has turned out marvelous!

  2. Getting back to something that you've let slide can be so hard! I have allowed myself to gain 7 or 8 lbs. and need to lose it so my clothes will be comfortable. Ugh....there's always something great to eat around here. I'm trying though.

Not sure about your hydrangea, although I've had lots of them in the past. Why not take a cutting to the nursery? :)

    1. Stacey,
You know what I am speaking of exercise! Yes, me too, same weight gain. I am just about to head out for my walk. One morning I was an acceptable weight and then next morning POOF!
Great idea, do you have a favorite nursery in Rockwall?

  3. Hi Jemma
Not sure about your hydrangea - hope someone will be able to help!

I had an enjoyable morning taking things slowly, sometimes I think it's good for us to take some time out and just relax - it can recharge our minds and bodies ...

Enjoy the rest of your week.

    All the best Jan

    1. Jan,
I hear wisdom speaking. Yes, quiet time is so nourishing and right now sounds very appealing to me.

  4. If I can't motivate myself to do something I assume I'm just not ready for it. I leave it for a while and then try again. Of course, not everything gets done :-)

  5. Wish I could help you with your hydrangea...I wish I could grow them! I have to enjoy them dried or faux.
I'm not very fond of the few pounds I packed on, either...looking forward to swimming now that it is warming up. I hope my leopard print bikini still fits! LOL ;)

    1. You have helped me with DE-I just know that is going to save the day for my garden and I appreciate it so much.
      Love your humor:)!

  6. I love Hydrangeas and wish I knew the name for you! Usually Just waint for the motivation feeling to come for me to do something!

  7. I am not a very skilled gardener, so I will answer the second question. Beginning again is something I have had to do often in my life. As long as I live, I will be beginning once again. There are times when I feel defeated, but I cannot stay sad for long. There is always a new beginning available and we just have to grasp it and move along. We can't erase the past, and we cannot know the future, so we must be the best we can be in the now.

    1. Susan,
So eloquently written and comforting too.
Wise tools for us all to use.
      Thank you.

  8. It was my birthday this weekend and we wandered to a new village to peek at some pretty shops and homes on the water...spectacular!

    1. Well Miss Kim!

I want to wish you a very happy belated Birthday!
I am so glad you were all well so you could go out and about and feel good.
The outing sounds wonderful, I can just see the beauty of it all!

  9. Jemma, I wish I could help you with that hydrangea but I don't know which one it is. I became motivated today. Blogging has brought out the worst of me, I stay up very late putting together posts and sitting on my behind. It suddenly dawned on me that it doesn't have to be like this. It was simply my choice. The light would be so much better early for shooting photos and with summer around the corner I would much rather be out and about in the early part of the day. I could also quit living like Dracula!

  10. Losing weight is so hard. I'm trying to get on the Trim Healthy Mama program. Getting my husband on board is a different story.

  11. Could those hydrangeas be limelight hydrangeas?

As far as getting back into the routine of something, it depends on what it is. If it's something health related such as exercise or healthy eating, I just remind myself how good I'll feel mentally, physically, and spiritually.

  12. Well, as a blogger, I love pictures the most, and you have some cool pictures on here today. I love that old pick up truck. You know, I saw that "wander" sign at Hobby Lobby yesterday. By chance, did you get it there? I enjoy your Wandering Wednesday posts, Jemma. They are so peaceful and genuine.

    love, ~Sheri

  13. Jemma- TX counties usually have Ag Extention offices to answer questions regarding plants, bugs, etc. Usually there are web pages with info available. Plant info might be more native plants but usually it is a good resource.
