Dresses For Spring

April 09, 2015
I am O-b-s-e-s-s-e-d with Spring and I will tell you why.

You see, this is one of the best Season's of the year in North Texas.

Our flowers bloom brightly, the greens are the greenest of the Season

and our Texas Blue Sky weather is truly, truly marvelous.

By July it is hot, firecracker hot, hot enough to cook an egg on the sidewalk hot, and all of my

beautiful flowers will rapidly begin to fade.

Since I am obsessed with the essence of Spring,

you might just find that I will be posting quite a bit on this topic.

Yesterday on the blog we had a Garden party , today we are dressing up for the occasion.

Puppies who are as cute as a button are welcome to attend (semi-formal wear please) wink...

Whether you are going to a bridal shower or a baby shower-

An afternoon luncheon with your favorite gals,

You can never go wrong with a classic floral design for a garden party.

Perhaps a dinner party on the patio in the early evening,

when there is still a touch of coolness in the air.

A long sleeve tee combined with a head turning tulle,

or a flirty floral shift topped off with a cardigan.

With the Kentucky Derby just around the corner maybe you or a neighbor are hosting a

outdoor part and naturally you will need a hat.

Hats are very "in," this Season and I suspect, as I am sure that you do too,  that Duchess Kate has

had a huge role in their popularity.

Whatever you choose to wear, whatever party you host or attend-

Always remember that Happiness is looking just for you...

Happy Friday, have a delightful weekend, my dears!

  2. Those dresses are very spring-y...hate to admit it, but I gave up dresses the day I retired! If I can't go in jeans (or at least slacks) I don't go! it is nice that the weather has finally turned warmer and everything is greening up.
    Have a great weekend, Jemma!

  3. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that first dress - look at the different tiny sleeves or shoulders. Love it. And I like the in the 3rd one that gray skirt and top!!!!!!!!!!!!! ELEGANT

  4. Those dresses are beautiful...but I haven't worn a dress in many years! I do love a casual top and skirt (no hose!) in the summer though.

  5. Such gorgeous outfits and I do love that hat! I wish I could get away with wearing a hat to church but there's not one single hat in the whole congregation! I'd stick out like a sore thumb.

  6. Love these combinations, and that little fluffy dog is so cute! My brother married in Scotland, and EVERYONE there wore amazing hats (except me and my sisters!). We just could not find hats anywhere here in Canada before we went over there for the special day. How jealous I was ... I so wanted to wear a pretty hat too!

  7. Oh my gosh Jemma!! I so want that puppy!! It should be illegal for anything to be that cute!

As for the clothes, they're beautiful and so springy! I'm sure you're super excited that Spring is here. As for us, there's still snow outside, but it's definitely warming up. I was actually able to take off my jacket this morning after Zumba. Of course, I could be because the class warmed me up, but I'm going with the fact that it's getting warmer ;).

(I'm not sure why this particular post didn't pop up in my inbox. Maybe it did and I accidentally deleted it. Anywho...have a great week!)

  8. I love the dresses Jemma! The tulle skirt is so pretty! I will be the girl at the party, under dressed but rolling on the ground with the puppy! What a cutie! Have a great day!

  9. Jemma, I wish I had a top in that floral print in the second picture, it's gorgeous (colors and all). Spring in your area sounds wonderful, and these are fabulous outfits to wear during the season. I didn't realizes it got that hot there in the summer. It gets very hot here in the summer months too. I chuckled when you said 'firecracker hot.' I love your way with words, it's so refreshing.

    Have a lovely week, Jemma.

  10. So pretty, it makes me want to put on a frilly dress right now! ;)

  11. Hi Jemma, what a fun post! I live in WV, next door to KY and its Derby. My sisters and I have done a vintage Derby display for the last several years - it's always fun to see what we can find. I share our vintage finds on my blog. I look forward to seeing more of your posts - I'll be your newest follower on G+. Cheers!
