Newest Neighbor & Thoughts Of Home On Thursday#4 Winner

I am happy to be able to share two snippets of good news with you today.

One is our Thoughts Of Home On Thursday number 4 winner and our newest neighbor.

Our newest neighbor arrived less than 24 hours ago, right after torrential rainstorms.

I was actually worried about the little one and her Mother.

The pasture was water logged, with a hard wind blowing and the new foal was lying so still

that I was fearful she might not be alive.

But low and behold she is staying close to her Mamma, looking a wee bit bewildered and

very hungry too.

Her companion stayed very close by.

With a very watchful eye.

Isn't life grand and isn't the cycle of life a miracle to behold!

Congratulations to Mimi In The Middle Of Nowhere who was selected by Random.org.
Marigene was entry number 132, and shared with us her lovely April Cornell tablescape.
Please email me with your address and I will send out our Spring Giveaway.

Once again, the ladies of Thoughts Of Home On Thursday say thank you for your support and participation!

We look forward to you joining this coming Thursday too!

Have a lovely weekend!

Jemma's home is a quiet spot nestled among the trees. You might find me writing, reading, or puttering in my Greenhouse, tweaking a recipe, crafting a wreath or loving on my grands. Always living with a grateful heart.

  6. Oh the joys of spring! What a sweet baby! I've always loved horses. When I was a youngster I took horseback riding lessons at Girl Scout Camp and a very pregnant horse named Maggie stepped on my foot. I spent the rest of the day in the infirmary. Everyone thought for sure that my foot was broken but I was just fine. I haven't thought about that in a long time. Lol! Anyways, I approve of your newest little neighbor!

  9. Good morning JEMMA!!!!!!!! WEll, my congratulations to Mimi! AND........drumroll.........congrates to the mare who gave birth in such conditions! Her little foal is sweet as can be, and my heart rejoices! There is something about seeing these creatures as last weekend, you know, my husband took me to see the horses up in Stillwater. They almost seem magical, with their beautifully designed bodies, their splendid manes and peaceful eyes. I wish that little one health and happiness....and I see papa is very watchful!

Well my dear, how have you been?

  11. How I would love to have horses as neighbors! We do have a couple of horse farms a mile away, but I'd like it better if they were next door. :-)

  12. Jemma, these pics are precious of the mother horse and her baby. To experience this scene must have been wonderful for you. I am always in awe with nature. It teaches us and brings us goodness when we take time to appreciate it like you do.

    Have a pleasant Sunday, Jemma.

  13. I doubt that little mare could be any cuter. Years ago our daughter went to a horse camp in lake placid and we went to visit her. One of the most beautiful sites I've ever seen was when they let the horses loose. It was near sunset, and the lighting was magical. It's something I shall never forget. Horses are such beautiful, majestic creatures.
