Picnic Venue

Lets roll out those lazy, hazy crazy days of Summer with an amazing Picnic Venue.

What better way to break up a Summer day for the children, couples, or out of town

guests than filling a picnic basket with some goodies and heading off on an adventure.

I thought today we would take a peek into a variety of spots for a perfect picnic.

One of the awesome things that I like about a picnic is that you can truly have one anywhere.

It can be as elaborate as you'd like or just as simple too.

Let your imagination go, just as if you were a kid again.

From your backyard to a Mountain top... the sky is the limit.

A traditional venue for a picnic is the backyard, always convenient and no need to be concerned

with packing up and toting picnic baskets and drinks.

Part of the charm for this picnic is the setting, lights, textiles and flowers.

Feels magical, doesn't it?

Do you have a lake nearby?

Just look at this precious theme, if someone invited me I would be here in a blink of an eye.

Maybe your property borders some land or an orchard, how about this?

Rustic, casual, charm.

I know some of you lucky ladies have oceans nearby, when I spotted these I thought of you.

                                                                         Source

White sandy beaches and gentle waves beckon for neutrals as the framework for this picnic.

By using white baskets, pillows, table and clear glass it keeps the style clean and simple.

Not a single distraction, the focus remains on the sea.

                                                                   Source

Isn't this such a great idea, I love this-breakfast picnic.

Oh goodness such an appealing and savvy venue, enjoy the morning outdoors before the day has had

a chance to heat up.

The table is a wooden pallet-smiling, aren't you?

Serene Mountain setting perfect therapy for the soul and just look at the nibbles,

coffee and floral centerpiece-

Do you think they hiked up the mountain with these goodies in their back pack?

Did any of these catch your eye?

  3. Sweetest JEMMA! I WANT TO PICNIC WITH YOU! I love what you did here; your picnic-venue collage is perfect! They are all great, but that pallet table is brilliant! What a great way to set up table on the ground and then with some cushy pillows! Oh you have me thinking now...we went to the lake early in the morning yesterday for a walk and took our insulated picnic basket just for our water. It was even fun to come back to the car, open up our frosty cans of water and just sit there for a moment, looking at the lake. I also took a photo for my IG of a tent I saw in someone's lakeside front yard.....now, I'm thinking of sleeping outdoors in our covered patio!!!!

Picnics are a state of mind too....just to relax with a thermos of cold refreshment, a book, a light snack, with a friend. I hope you Monday will off to a great start my friend! Anita

    1. Good Morning Dear Anita!!
Yes lets go on a picnic together and invite all of our dear blogging partners for a joyful day!
I have eyed pallets so many times and just maybe I can figure out how to incorporate one of them into my decorating. Your picnic sounds lovely and refreshing, I can almost taste the water from the frosty cans....love that detail.

  4. Good Morning dear Jemma,
Picnics are definitely one of my favorite things to do, and all of these picnic settings look wonderful. I love the idea of a picnic in the mountains or even a nearby-lake. That would be so peaceful. It's been pretty hot here for a picnic, but when Autumn arrives, it's the most beautiful weather here for a picnic. So many fantastic ideas on here today. I love the picture of the red flowers with the blue accessories. I hope your house plans are coming along nicely. This is such an exciting time for you, and I'm so thrilled to be a part of this journey with you.

    Have a beautiful week, Jemma.

    love, ~Sheri

    1. Good Morning Sweet Sheri~
Picnics in the Fall are one of the most loveliest ones, as the cooler Autumn air moves in, changing leaves and a renewed spirit after the heavy, hot Summer months. It is so nice that you live in such a beautiful area where there are abundant resources for embracing the beautiful outdoors.
Thinking of you and wishing you a lovely week.
      love,
      Jemma

  5. Wow those picnic views are gorgeous!!! Those are the picnic views and foods of my dreams! We have been picnicing this summer - however ours look a little different. Our city is doing a free summer concert series at our reservoir. They feature local bands, usually guys I know who were in a high school garage band in the 70's and still jam together. We head out in the pickup where we meet up with my daughters-in-law (sons work nights) and my three youngest grandkids, aged 2, 1 and 8 months. We fold down the tail gate, set up a blanket for the babies and a couple of folding chairs at the edge so we aren't disrupting the concert and break open a bucket of chicken we pick up on the way. In my dreams I have time to make cute sandwiches, adorable salads, delicious desserts - but that is our reality!

  11. Hi Jemma :)

All of these look so wonderful, I couldn't possibly choose. I've been wanting to buy a real picnic basket for some time. There's one in a vintage shop near me, that's green, and I always admire it, but haven't bought it. I think I shall, if it's still there next time ;)

    Your new property is gorgeous!

    1. I think you should buy that picnic basket too, Rue. You know I have a fragile wicker one, it really is vintage and needs to be retired as I usually end up just bringing it along because its so cute.
Metal would be so much more durable and functional.
Thank you Rue, about liking our new property-they are going to start the ground work next week!

  12. What pretty inspiration you've chosen for playful picnics, my friend! They're all so beautiful, but I have to say, picnics by the sea are, for me, the ultimate getaway: tuna, egg, and cucumber sandwiches, potato salad, a few slices of cheese, a fluffy baguette, juicy tomatoes, a refreshing drink, and cherry turnovers for dessert, while sipping a cup of hot coffee, and I'm floating away with the waves.

I'm sure you'd host the perfect picnic, wherever the venue.

Wishing you a wonderfully whimsical week!

So wonderful to hear from you! Oh yum, you have the best goodies in your picnic basket and I just had breakfast and still would like some of those nibbles. Yes, the ocean venue is perfectly balanced and dreamy.
Wishing you a wonderful week too!

  13. Hello gorgeous! I was just saying yesterday to a friend how everything tastes better when eaten outside. Why is that?? I love picnics too, but that's no surprise, right? Doesn't everyone?

I still have an old fashioned picnic basket given to me by my mother as an engagement gift over 32 years ago, but I will confess that for practical reasons, I often leave it behind in favor of a cooler.

Now about those locales...I'm partial to the ocean, but the mountain view is a very, very, close second.

And I really shouldn't have read Poppy's comment. Now I'm hungry...and I JUST ATE DINNER!

    1. Hello Pretty Lady!
Do you truly have a such a wonderful keepsake as a vintage picnic basket from your Mom~oh goodness, you must continue to hold on to it. I am wondering if you could find a special spot and incorporate it into your decorating-sounds too precious to even consider using.

  17. I am so ready to picnic with you my friend! I love picnics. My sweet motherinlove used to picnic all the time! She'd have her little picnic basket filled with goodies along with her red and white tablecloth and here we'd all go. The children would have a ball and she would find any place to picnic. It did not matter to her where it would be either. I have done several picnics with the grands at a local park so they could play on the playground. I might just be inspired to do a small picnic in my backyard now with my man! Happy Tuesday/ Hugs and blessings, Cindy
