French Western Pumpkins Tutorial

October 02, 2014

I want to thank you, my dear readers for joining me in my blogging journey!

Last year I made these French Western Pumpkins and since that post,

there have been many of you who have emailed me requesting a tutorial on how to make these

charming, whimsical and unique French Western Pumpkins.

I have done my best to prepare this tutorial for you and I so hope it proves to be

helpful, please send me an email if you need any clarification.

For current crafting tutorials, gardening tips, recipes and more please follow me on Instagram
and on my IGTV channel.

A word of caution, you may get a few minor scratches when cutting and bending the chicken
wire.

Supplies For Chicken Wire Pumpkins

I purchased my chicken wire from Home Depot, and this Styrofoam pumpkin works well for
me to use as a pattern.

The dimensions below will make one medium pumpkin, or two small.

Okay, now the fun begins, we get to shape our pumpkin and turn it from just a piece of wire

into art!

When I make these they always remind me of molding clay, and honestly it is so rewarding

to see how they turn out, because each one is unique.

Mold and press the wire until you are satisfied with the shape, just play around with them until

you are satisfied with they way look and remember they are very durable so you can reshape them if

you get the notion!

Embellish your French Western Pumpkin how you would like, for this one I added a

orange bow and orange felt letter.

So, then I had fun just playing around with some Fall decorating!

Thinking how pretty a candle might be tucked inside one of these too...

One of the reasons I like these so much is because there is no wrong way to make them,

now you must admit that is a nifty benefit!

These French western pumpkins are so clever. You did a great job on them. I love all the oranges and yellows in your décor. These glorious colors of the season is one of the things I like most at this time. Jess has craft night sometimes, and I will have to share this with her. Thank you so much for the birthday wishes for her. Your message spoke to my heart and I truly loved it.
